Where do I send my completed blue badge application form?

Once the application has been completed and you have all the relevant documentation required, please

  • Post or deliver your application to: Inspire Community Trust, 20 Whitehall Lane, Slade Green, DA8 2DH (opening times Mon-Fri 9am to 5pm); or
  • Take it to your local Library in the Bexley Area (except for Bexley village or Slade Green Library),. For specific open hours of a particular branch, these can be found at www.bexley.gov.uk
  • Take it to the Civic Offices, 2 watling Street, Bexleyheath

If you wish to pay by credit or debit card these can only be processed at Libraries.

We can only process fully completed applications submitted with all the supporting documents.

How will I receive my Badge?

If your application is successful, you will be required to attend IN PERSON to collect your blue badge. You will also be required to return your old, expired badge at this time. You can collect your blue badge at a Library of your choice (except for Bexley village and Slade Green Library) by indicating which one on the back page of the form or from Inspire Community Trust.

How long will it take?

We shall do our best to process your application within 4-6 weeks but do ask you to apply at least 8 weeks before the badge is due to expire ensuring that the process can be completed in plenty of time and the replacement badge issued before the old badge expires. Please bear in mind that this process does take up to 6 weeks. We will endeavour to provide you with the most efficient service we can but will be unable to give updates or speed up the process and would ask that you do not contact us within this 6 week period to check on the progress of your blue badge.

Please note that if you apply in plenty of time before your existing badge expires, we will aim to issue the new badge about one week before other one expires.

Came for an assessment but was also helped with a walking stick and information on attendance allowance for us. For us, personally, you could not improve your service to us. You all attended my mother in a kind, friendly and professional way.

Why do we have to pay £10 for the badge?

The blue badge scheme is a government scheme, but the government ask the local authorities to administer it on their behalf. Badges have also to be purchased, so the £10 fee is a small contribution the Local Authority costs.  If you are not found to be eligible for the badge following assessment then this money is refunded.

Why do I have to collect my badge in person?

The Department for Transport request that all badge holders collect their badge in person and hand over an expiring badge. This is done in part to try and prevent the misuse of the scheme
