Will the Freedom Pass be sent to my home address?

Those applying for the older persons pass will have their pass sent to their home address. Those applying for the disability pass will have to come to the Inspire office to collect their pass in person.

Will I need to be seen?

We like to carry out telephone assessments where possible, however if it is felt that you have more complex needs then you will need to be assessed face-to-face by one of our therapists.  This may take place at the wheelchair service clinic, at home, at another venue if suitable (e.g. at your day centre or your child’s school).

Why do we have to pay £10 for the badge?

The blue badge scheme is a government scheme, but the government ask the local authorities to administer it on their behalf. Badges have also to be purchased, so the £10 fee is a small contribution the Local Authority costs.  If you are not found to be eligible for the badge following assessment then this money is refunded.

Why do I have to collect my badge in person?

The Department for Transport request that all badge holders collect their badge in person and hand over an expiring badge. This is done in part to try and prevent the misuse of the scheme

Where may I obtain an application form from?

The forms are available for any library within the borough of Bexley, except Bexley Village and Slade Green, They can also be picked up from the Inspire Office in Slade Green or from the Civic Offices in Watling Street. You may also download the form from the Inspire Community Trust website.    The form will tell you what supporting information is required.

Where can I use the blue badge?

Blue badge holders cannot park just anywhere, holders have a responsibility to park safely. All badge holders are provided with a booklet on where you can or cannot park.

When is the Occupational Therapist available?

The Occupational Therapist is available on 0203 045 5328 (Thursday and Friday)

Came for an assessment but was also helped with a walking stick and information on attendance allowance for us. For us, personally, you could not improve your service to us. You all attended my mother in a kind, friendly and professional way.
